Biographical Information on SBLSA Officers:
President: Elizabeth Kapp, best known as Buffy to family and friends, is legal secretary to Bruce McRoy and Drew Simons at Reicker, Pfau. Born and raised in Iowa, Buffy moved to California in 1965, starting her legal secretary career as a trainee at the law firm of Crawford, Schwartz, Wood & Otero in 1966. She subsequently worked for numerous Santa Barbara private practice attorneys and law firms before joining Reicker, Pfau. Buffy is the proud mother of three daughters and enjoyed being an active parent in the schools, providing teacher support, typing school newsletters and serving on the Board of Directors at Marymount and PTA Boards. Her hobbies include a life-long love of the arts, especially dance, playing piano, singing and painting with pastels.
Co-Vice President: Noemi Vasquez is originally from the Bakersfield area, and moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB - she graduated in 1990. Afterwards, she entered the business of collections until she came to work in the legal field with a large firm in Santa Barbara in 1995. Currently, she is the Receptionist at Reicker, Pfau, Pyle & McRoy, LLP, where she has worked for the last 14 years. In 2006, she joined the SB Legal Secretaries' Association and has been in charge of ways & means, handling all aspects of the year-end See's Candy sales. Noemi loves to watch old movies, listen to music & spend time with her family here in Santa Barbara and in Bakersfield.
Co-Vice President: Lisa (Bautista) Velez was born and raised in Santa Barbara and attended the local elementary and junior high schools. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in June 2001, starting her career in the legal field in October 2001 as an employee of Reicker, Pfau, Pyle & McRoy, LLP, and is still going strong there. She has been a member of SBLSA for the past 3 years. She is a proud new mommy of a baby boy named Michael Anthony and is very happy to be growing in her career and as a new mother. Her hobbies include knitting and watching sports both on T.V. and attending games, along with spending time with friends & family.
Governor: Denise Goldstein is an 18-year member of LSI and started her involvement with the Conejo Valley chapter as the chairperson of various committees, and then followed-through with officer positions, making her a Past President and Past Governor of CVLPA. She transferred her membership to Santa Barbara after relocating to the area and now serves the Santa Barbara chapter as Governor.

Treasurer: Terry Utterback is secretary to Eric Hvolboll, Ken Pontifex and Sam Zodeh at Price, Postel & Parma. A native of California, Terry was born in San Mateo, attended grade school in Arcadia and Pomona, high school in Claremont and graduated from Newport Harbor High in Newport Beach. Terry graduated from UCSB with a degree in art and subsequently went to work as a legal secretary for Schramm, Raddue & Seed. She became a stay-at-home mom for many years, raising two wonderful children, joining PTA and other nonprofit groups, and operated a sole proprietorship selling promotional advertising for 22 years. She returned to work in a law firm in 1999 and continues to this day. She has served on the alumni board of her college sorority Alpha Phi for many years. She enjoys playing golf (time permitting), reading, painting, antiquing, car shows, etc.
Executive Advisor: Linda Nicholson made Santa Barbara her home in 1972 and worked in the banking and real estate industries. Her legal secretarial career began in 1982 and extended through 2005, focusing primarily on corporate, real estate and estate plan areas of the law. Since 1998, she has been the Executive Assistant for Martin Farrell Homes, Inc., a prominent local real estate development company. She also serves as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Co-Chairman of Ivanhoe Energy, Inc., an international oil and gas development company. Linda has been a supportive member of SBLSA and LSI since joining in 1988. Currently, she is SBLSA's Parliamentarian and has previously served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, and also chaired a number of committees. Her primary focus is her family, but outside of that and work, she loves to listen to music, dance, garden, watch old movies and exercise at Jazzercise.
